Take A Walk

Walking Can Save Lives

presentation

Did you know that one person every 10 minutes dies for obesity?

The lack of physical activity is the fourth cause of death for cancer, diabetes, obesity and heart disease. It’s quite scary, isn’t it? Probably most of you after a long day spend the evening chilling in front of the tv,well, that’s the worst thing you can do to your body. You can literally die laying on the sofa.According to a study made in 2010 the 40% of the population does not do sports, neither a walk, an the percentage increase when we become older. Some statistics have proved that people without education and with economic problems are less likely to practise sports, especially if they are women. Basically,we spend more time on the bed than on our foot. Important studies have found out that the country you live in has an influence on how much sport do you practise:in fact northern countries, like Sweden, have a huge number of people who do sport regularly. Fitness is not just aesthetic, you can’t imagine the physical and psychological benefits that can have on you:first of all your heart is more healthy, your blood sugar in control, your metabolism faster so you can burn fat easier, and your immune system is stronger,so it reduces the possibilities to get serious illness. At the age of 30 our muscles start becoming weak, crazy right? Doing physical exercises not only will slow down the aging process, but also will make them stronger and your bones too. Also too much stress can damage your heart and that’s the reason why you need sport:It improves your sleep and makes you more productive,so you’ll come up with original ideas and you’ll feel more satisfied. Fitness has a huge impact on your mind:it influences your mood making you happier and relaxed, you will feel more self-confident and proud of yourself. It can really help you building your self-esteem and improving your creativity. Keeping fit will affect positively every aspect of your social life:it helps making friends and finding a partner, believe it or not. There are several possibilities to practise sport:go to the gym, workout at home, which is becoming very popular nowadays,or,if you prefer being outdoors, take up running. Whatever activity you choose, take it seriously,be committed and most important don’t quit, even if it seems too hard. Sport has also an important educational role:it teaches you discipline, dedication and responsibility, that’s why it is particularly recommended for kids. Remember to not be addicted to it,have a rest once in a while is very important too:don’t forget that too much pressure can destroy your body. Eu recommends at least 150 minutes per week of physical activity, that’s not a big effort if you think about it. Sports change your lifestyle completely and once you try it you won’t go back,I assure you.

So please, when this talk will have finished don’t turn on the tv,but take a walk.
